DEMO TextVisionTM & The Vision of Learning | "First
There Was Text, Then There Was Television, Now There's TextVision. SoftOlogy Presents A Major Breakthrough In Learning Efficiency" TextVisionTMcombines the speed and ergonomic comfort of the RapidReaderTM text method with the power of imbedded graphics. It was designed specifically to convey information using the unique capabilities of a computer as it's medium. It's not re-packaged books or video that suffer on a computer but a "built from the ground up" method that is designed to take advantage of what the computer is, a flexible tool that can rapidly access large amounts of information and display it with true educational power. TextVisionTM is the only tool that is capable of "broadcasting" a text with graphics program dynamically, without the need for scrolling. And all this power comes at a tiny fraction of the bandwidth required for video and most multimedia presentations. This makes TextVision is the ideal solution for Internet and Intranet learning. In House Training |
"Training For Tomorrow"
It's a "Brave New World" for the Training Professional. Electronic training tools and "DISTANCE" or "REMOTE" learning are changing the expectations of both employer and employee. Of course the basic goals of good training haven't changed, only the ways in which they're achieved. For instance, the function of good training has always been to get your new employees up and on track as soon as possible. You want your sales force selling confidently in their product knowledge. You want to know that the staff has learned what they need to know to operate effectively. And you want to be certain that the information they all receive is uniformly correct. That's what's always been expected of solid employee education. But you also are conscious of the budgetary and time constraints your department faces; the cost of outsourcing and creation of the materials to do the job the way you want to see it done. It's a delicate balance. While effective communication is the foundation of training, cost efficiency is the foundation of departmental management. So, the new techniques of information transfer that offer the promise of streamlining the training process are eagerly welcomed. In the very recent past, the bar of training excellence has been raised. Now with the electronic tools available there are a host of new possibilities; remote testing, on-line tutorials, instant product updates, continuing education, performance assessment and compliance monitoring to name but a few. Those capabilities have existed for some time. The dream of efficient teaching over the Internet and corporate intranets has been central to the topic of training of all types. But up until now, there was one simple thing that stood in the way.... Reading on a computer screen is difficult and uncomfortable. When you think about it, most people don't like to read for any length of time if they have to scroll down a page and decipher text in a high contrast environment like a monitor screen. For training purposes it's even more problematic. The potential trainee in addition to having to learn the material you want him to know, has to contend with ergonomic discomfort and accelerated fatigue. So, far from being a better way to learn, the process of computer based education is often a costly distraction. That is, up until now. SoftOlogy's TextVisionTM changes all that. This powerful methodology is the result of nearly 5 years of research both at SoftOlogy Development Group and major universities into the ways humans learn best. This diligent research has lead to the creation of TextVisionTM. TextVisionTM in an ergonomic revolution in reading on a computer. The user simply sits back and "watches" the text much the way they would a movie. The information flows to them in a Patent Pending display that eliminates the need for scrolling. But that's only the beginning of the story. Research has shown that we are actually capable of comprehending up to 1600 words per minute! The limitations to our average reading speed of 150 or so words per minute come about because of eye movement and the "sounding out" in our heads of the text we read. TextVisionTM eliminates both limitations through the use of the RapidReaderTM technology created at SoftOlogyTM. The user can speed up or slow down the text they are seeing. They can stop the text "flow" in the "turbo Window" and by simply hitting the "space bar" they can see the block of text they are reading in RapidReader. They can "HIGHLITE" sections of the text to save for later review and they can "FIND" sections of information they want to review by use of a keyword search feature. In other words with TextVisionTM they can not only experience the training but customize a review program for themselves without the need for trainer provision of hard copy review sheets and other materials. The advantages that TextVisionTM offers to your training environment are enormous both in effectiveness and cost efficiency. But with TextVisionTM a picture is worth a thousand words.
